Anne
St. Dennis
When Anne’s not dreaming about one day retiring to write
steamy novels by the ocean on beautiful Prince Edward Island, she is busy
managing industry relations, strategic communications and legal affairs
for the
Greater Montréal Real Estate Board and the
Québec
Federation of Real Estate Boards. Aside from being recognized for
having the longest title ever, Anne’s career experience includes that of
having over 25 years as a communications and marketing specialist, with
the last 18 in the domain of real estate.
Anne started her career in the east, in Ottawa, by working
in television and government after obtaining a university degree in
journalism. She quickly realized that while television was interesting and
fun, government was not (and nor were the winters) so she crossed the
country and landed in beautiful Victoria, British Columbia on Vancouver
Island. She finally found her passion, that of real estate (which almost
parallels her love for islands) and then spent 11 years working for the
Victoria Real Estate Board, while at the same time, achieving her CAE
designation.
While Anne was the
Executive Officer in Victoria, she heard yet another “island call”
and so about seven years ago headed back east, this time to the
Island of Montreal where the opportunities were abound. She welcomed
the heady challenges of working for the second largest board in
Canada and rejuvenating her French speaking capabilities plus
quickly realized that, thanks to global-warming, the winters were a
little more bearable. Anne’s
love for the real estate industry is reflected in her many on-going
volunteer activities. In addition to speaking at many industry conferences
including Inman, CMLS and the AEC Institute, she was President of CMLS in
2006-07, and remains to this day on its Board of Directors. Anne was also
a Director for The Canadian Real Estate Association in 2006-07 and Chair
of the Association Executives’ Council. |
